Delivery Specialist / Truck Driver
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team full time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maneuvering semi-truck to transport goods and materials to and from specified locations. Deliveries include Lithium-Ion batteries and components to manufacture Lithium-Ion batteries. When not delivering goods the driver will help in the warehouse and stockroom.
Duties:
Safely operate a tractor-trailer
Transport freight promptly
Perform deliveries as a route driver
Operate heavy equipment as needed (forklift)
Follow specific instructions for each delivery, plan routes and meet delivery schedules
Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns
Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations
Reporting defects, accidents and violations
Performing daily maintenance of the truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)
Long-distance driving
Ability to travel between Canada and New York
Availability to make overnight deliveries (Monday–Friday)
Experience:
Proven experience in truck driving
Proficient in manual and automatic transmission vehicles
Familiarity with regional lanes and route driving
Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws pertaining to semi-truck operation
Familiarity with forklifts
Requirements:
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
Clean driving record
Ability to pass drug/alcohol screenings
Strong communication and customer service skills
5+ years of experience
